Chargers Loss Eliminates 30.3% of Circa Survivor Entries
The Circa Survivor field suffered a massive early shakeup after the Los Angeles Chargers lost, eliminating 7,585 entries — 30.3% of the entire Circa Survivor field.
The Chargers entered the week as one of the most popular Circa Survivor picks, with nearly one out of every three contestants trusting Los Angeles to keep their entry alive.
Instead, the Chargers' loss produced one of the first major elimination events of the 2026 Circa Survivor contest.
7,585 Circa Survivor Entries Eliminated by Chargers Loss
A total of 7,585 Circa Survivor entries selected the Chargers, representing 30.3% of all entries.
Every one of those entries has now been eliminated.
In a contest as large as Circa Survivor, one NFL upset can dramatically change the complexion of the field. When more than 30% of contestants select the same team, the result of a single game can instantly eliminate thousands of entries.
That's exactly what happened with the Chargers.
For Circa Survivor contestants who avoided Los Angeles and successfully advanced, the result was especially valuable. Not only did they survive, but they watched nearly one-third of the original competition disappear.
Chargers Also Eliminate 28 Circa Grandissimo Entries
The Chargers' loss wasn't limited to the main Circa Survivor contest. Another 28 entries were eliminated from Circa Grandissimo, Circa's high-stakes survivor contest.
With Grandissimo featuring a much smaller field, losing 28 entries on the same game represents another significant early-season shakeup.
Both contests now move forward with substantially fewer entries thanks to one result.
Circa Survivor Strategy: Popular Picks Come With Risk
The Chargers' loss demonstrates one of the most important elements of Circa Survivor strategy: the most popular pick isn't always automatically the best pick.
Survivor contestants have several factors to consider each week, including the likelihood a team wins, how popular that selection will be and the future value of saving that team.
Picking a heavily favored team can provide a strong opportunity to advance, but following a popular selection also creates risk. When a large portion of the Circa Survivor field chooses the same team, an upset can produce enormous consequences.
This time, 30.3% of Circa Survivor entries went down together.
For contestants who successfully picked another team, the Chargers loss provided immediate value by dramatically reducing the number of competitors still chasing the Circa Survivor prize pool.
Circa Survivor Field Looks Very Different After Chargers Loss
There is still a long way to go in the 2026 Circa Survivor contest.
Contestants will have to navigate the entire NFL season while managing which teams remain available to them. Holiday slates add another layer of difficulty, and saving valuable teams for future weeks can become increasingly important as the season progresses.
But one thing is already clear: the Circa Survivor field looks dramatically different after the Chargers loss.
