Kansas City has the type of roster that makes the Chiefs an appealing Survivor option almost any week. The biggest concern in Week 3 is that the Chiefs have to go on the road.

Road games always introduce another variable in a contest where one loss ends your entry. Kansas City also figures to have several attractive opportunities later in the season, so contestants need to decide whether Week 3 is the right time to use the Chiefs or whether their future value makes them worth saving.

San Francisco 49ers: A Strong Choice If You Still Have Them

If you still have the San Francisco 49ers available, they deserve serious consideration in Week 3.

The biggest issue is simply availability. The 49ers were one of the most popular Circa Survivor selections in Week 2, with 6,741 entries — 39.8% of the remaining field — using San Francisco.

That means a significant portion of the remaining contestants can no longer select them.

For anyone who went in another direction last week, having San Francisco available for Week 3 could be extremely valuable. As always, contestants should also consider the 49ers' future schedule before deciding to use them now.

Detroit Lions: Another Strong Home Option

Playing at home in Detroit gives the Lions an immediate advantage when comparing them with options such as Kansas City and Seattle, both of which have to travel this week.

Detroit has become one of the NFL's stronger teams, making the Lions the type of team Survivor contestants will likely consider multiple times throughout the season.

That creates the same dilemma that comes with Buffalo, Kansas City and San Francisco: Is Week 3 the best time to use Detroit, or will there be a better opportunity later?

For contestants who prioritize strong home teams, the Lions deserve to be firmly in the Week 3 conversation.

Seattle Seahawks: Another Week 3 Possibility

The Seattle Seahawks are another team worth examining for Circa Survivor Week 3.

Seattle has established itself as one of the NFL's stronger teams, but much like Kansas City, the Seahawks will have to win away from home this week.

That doesn't necessarily eliminate Seattle from consideration, but location matters when comparing several strong options.

Seattle also carries considerable future value. Using the Seahawks early in the season could leave contestants without them for a more favorable situation later in the year.

For contestants who have already used San Francisco or some of the other popular teams, however, Seattle provides another legitimate path through Week 3.

Buffalo Bills: A Strong Home Option

One major advantage for Buffalo is that the Bills get to play at home, putting them alongside Detroit and San Francisco as appealing home options this week.

The Chargers have already played an enormous role in Circa Survivor this season. Their Week 1 loss eliminated 7,585 entries, or 30.3% of the entire starting field, before they again knocked out another 1,357 entries in Week 2.

The biggest strategic question may be whether contestants want to use Buffalo this early. The Bills could provide multiple attractive opportunities throughout the season, making future schedule planning especially important.

What Are the Best Circa Survivor Week 3 Options?

Week 3 gives contestants several different paths.

The 49ers, Lions and Bills stand out as strong home options, while the Chiefs and Seahawks require contestants to trust a team on the road.

Availability will also play a major role. Anyone who used San Francisco during its extremely popular Week 2 will obviously need to look elsewhere, while contestants who still have the 49ers available have another potentially valuable option to consider.

Most importantly, Circa Survivor isn't just about finding a team that can survive this week. Every selection removes that team from your available options for the rest of the contest.

Before submitting a Week 3 pick, consider both the current matchup and how valuable that team could become later in the season.
